The Travel Blog is FINALLY [sorta] here!
I spent the majority of September - December on a much needed, wayyyy overdue trip, backpacking across Mexico, Guatemala, and finishing up with a quick tour of Belize, before returning to my "home base" of the uber-touristy Cancun. I was really good with writing, making sure I updated my little journal nearly every day.
Only problem was that, eventually, I needed to transcribe everything from my hand-written notes onto a computer- a travel blog, if you will. What a fucking tedious task. But I had to do it this way. It just wasn't the same typing everything on a computer once I got back to my hostel every night. I wanted to write wherever I was, and I did- on top of a pyramid at Tikal, Guatemala. On the hammock in the rainforest of Semuc Champey. On endless buses heading to wherever the fuck I was going, or nowhere at all. It felt too artificial to type my outdoor adventures on a computer every night.
Eventually I did finally transcribe most of my journal onto my computer, spending days in Cancun smoking weed and drinking Sol con limon y sal for 8 hours, copious amounts of beer and weed being my only medicine to keep me motivated- the only thing keeping me from not running to the gorgeous Caribbean waves waiting for me blocks away. (Thank God for Christian, the super uber hospitable host I had in Cancun, Mexico. Weed! Beer! Copious amounts! Saved my fucking LIFE!)
I still never finished transcribing everything. Parts are missing, mainly in the beginning of the trip- and places like Valladolid & Merida, which I avoided writing about in order to protect those that were a significant part of that chapter of my trip. Those parts changed the whole damn thing. I'll write about it eventually, just don't wanna share all the juicy details of my personal life.
Anyway, you can check out the blog here. I do encourage you to scroll down a bit to get to the super interesting stuff- places like Day of the Dead in Patzcuaro and, really, anywhere in Guatemala, are where it gets really interesting--> Beautiful Insanity: My (Mis)adventures in Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize

Self Indulgence
A few weeks ago, he informed me that one of the photos we took was featured on Vogue Italy's website.
Fuck yeah! So, here I am, self-indulging in my fully deserved bragging rights.
