Hyaluronic acid. Just one of the current, hot items in skincare (along with vitamin c serums and argan oil for skin/hair). So, what do you know about hyaluronic acid? As a licensed esthetician and current nursing student, I know that hyaluronic acid is naturally produced by the skin. It's a little complicated to know exactly how hyaluronic acid works (and super boring), so I'll spare you the nitty gritty details and keep it simple--> hyaluronic acid basically bathes between your skin cells. It provides lubrication in our body (hyaluronic acid is actually also used as an injection for osteoarthritis treatment, as it keeps the joints from smooshing against each other.
